The National Cadet Corps is the youth wingof Armed Forces with its Headquartersat New Delhi,India.The National Cadet Corps in Indiais a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools,higher secondary, collegesand universitiesall over India.The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades.

National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization,comprising the Army, Navyand Air Wing, engaged in groomingthe youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.

The College NCC unit firstly started with a joint NCC Unit with C NCollege, Ramgarh, had an enrollment of 20 Cadets from ourcollege each year in 2016. The college got an allotment of new raising NCC8/22 Company of 60 Cadets on 12 August 2021.The new admission opens for the studentsin NCC unit in the month of July each year.This will be beneficial for thestudents keen to make career in the defence services.


Aims of NCC

The Aims of the NCC is to develop discipline, character, and brother hood,the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens.Not only these, it also aims to enlighten leadership qualities among the youthwho will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. It alsomotivates the young to choose a career in armed forces.

ACTIVITIES OF NATIONAL CADET CORPS

Institutional Training

Institutionaltraining conducted at Colleges and Schools is the mainstay of NCC training andis conducted by Associate NCC Officers and Armed Forces personnel.

Camp Training

Camp training is the practical manifestation of institutional training. Thebasic aim of Camps is to introduce cadets to a regimented way of life and helpsin developing camaraderie, team work, leadership qualities, self-confidence,self-reliance and dignity of labour in the cadets. The cadets are exposed tothe excitement of camp life where they apply the theoretical knowledge thatthey had gained in Institutional Training.

Various camps which are organized for the cadets are as follows:

1.     Annual TrainingCamps/ Combined Annual Training Camps (ATC/CATC). These are held within theState under the aegis of respective NCC Directorates. Participation in thesecamps is an essential requirement for appearing at `B`, and `C` certificateexamination

 

2.     ThalSainik Camp (TSC):ThalSainik Camp is a camp whichgives a Army NCC cadets no. of opportunities. It's main purpose is to producemore and more cadets who'd be able to represent their group, contingent , anddirectorates in inter NCC competitions.

 

3.     NationalIntegration Camp (Nic): This camp is organized by NCC Directorate withthe aim to develop the spirit of National Integration among the NCC cadets.

 

4.     Republic Day Camp (RDC)
This camp is organised by DG NCC at the time of Republic day celebrations ofthe country. It is held from 9th to 29th January every year in Delhi. In thiscamp selected cadet from all over the country take part. During the camp thecadets take part in Republic Day Parade, Service Chiefs Parade, Prime MinistersRally and in addition, compete in inter directorate training events. Forselection to Republic Day Camp, the directorates also organize Pre-RDC.

5.     Social Service Camp
NCC has as a responsible organization has also included Social service as oneof the subjects in its training programme. It exposes the cadets to varioussocial problems so that they can be sensitized about these problems

6.     Adventure Training:

To inculcate a spirit of adventure and teamwork, NCC cadets undergo various adventure activities such aspara jumps, para sailing, trekking, mountaineering and sailing expeditions.
